Verasion ~~~ The onset of ripening in the vineyard!
We are enjoying the harvest and preparing to
open our doors on the 18th! Please stop by and try some
Fresh Tracks Farm Wine!

Okay!

I couldn’t resist adding more photos this month.

There is so much activity on the farm!

Of course the firewood seasoning in the sun is pretty obvious.

Perhaps you’re wondering what Shawn is doing?

Compost Tea – and he is clearly very enthusiastic about it!

It takes 24 hours to brew (using the rich vermicompost that we get from our red wiggler worm bin).

Then we cover the farm with it…okay...maybe not the whole farm.

Here you can see Shawn spraying sunflowers – way to go Shawn!

(I wonder what he’ll say when he sees this post?)

The other photo shows the current progress of the grapes in the vineyard.

We are still hoping to open our new tasting room next month……

…….fingers crossed…check!

(Oh yeah....still July 2010)

July 2010

Though it may be tough to work in this heat -

the vines are loving it!

The new winery/tasting room should be open

next month. We'll keep you posted!

June 2010

Growing Growing Growing !

May 2010

We can already see the flower clusters
and this year's crop exploding out of the woody
canes. It is truly amazing.
Being the first week of May, we have
a long way to go.

April 2010

Spring is here and so are "Little Matt" and "Little Shawn"!
We have proudly named our new female piglets after our
loyal employees!
Our tasting room in nearing completion and we are knee
deep in details. We hope to open by June.
If anyone would like to be informed of our opening, please email
us your info and we will add you to our contact list.
Our vines are coming out of dormancy and we will be losing sleep
watching the weather forecast in no time!
Happy Spring !

Fletcher supervises.........

February 2010

Here is our ice cider tank in deep-freeze mode!

January 2010

This is an exciting year for us here at

Fresh Tracks Farm.

We are finishing work on our tasting room and

expanding our sugaring operation.

This month our wines are being cold stabilized using the

chilly Vermont air (it’s free around here).

December 2009

Lab work is never done!

November 2009

Real progress on our new tasting room.
We plan to open our doors in the
Spring!

October 2009

We did get a blanket of snow in the middle of
harvest this year (but it didn't stick around long).
Our new 16 hl membrane press kept things running smoothly.

September  2009

We can't let the birds have all the grapes!

August 2009

Here is our new acre of Marquette.
This is an exciting new variety from the University of Minnesota
that produces a red wine with substantial tannin structure.
We now have more than two and a half acres planted to Marquette.

July 2009

The grapes and tasting room are making progress.

June 2009

Helped along by some hot and steamy weather,
we have bloom in the vineyard.
Grapevines are self-pollinators.

May 2009

The vines are awake and growing.

April 2009

We have just completed pruning the vineyard.
As we await warmer weather we are finishing up
boiling in the sugarhouse and planning our new tasting room.
